Chuck Chappell took a bookkeeping class on a lark when he was a student at Roseburg High School, little dreaming that accounting would end up being his life’s work. “It was providence, really, that set me on this path,” he says.
Chuck attended Umpqua Community College and Oregon State University. He came back to Roseburg in 1989 after nearly three years of work for a national accounting firm in Eugene.
A partner in the firm since 1991, Chuck specializes in working with the medical industry, providing consulting and tax services. He also works with clients in the real estate, construction, forest products and restaurant industries. He is licensed as a certified public accountant and a certified valuation analyst.
Chuck places a high value on the relationships he has developed with his clients. “I’m here as a servant for these people; it’s part of my faith,” he says. “I want my clients to have the best financial success possible, and I do whatever I can to make that happen.”
Chuck spends his free time playing golf, cycling, participating in church activities and relaxing with his wife, Gloria, and three teen-age children. His career choice may have been made by chance, but it looks like it may become a family tradition–his son, a college student, is interested in an accounting degree.
